While termite colonies are in flight they tend to shed small wings. These wings can easily be seen on the floor, on your counter tops, or anywhere where there’s quite a lot of wood. If you spot some termite wings it’s highly likely that your home is infested.
5. Distorted or Cracked Paint
Paint that is distorted or cracked can be a sign of a termite infestation. It can also be a sign that you have water damage. If you come across distorted or cracked paint along with any other signs of termites it’s likely that you have a major termite infestation.
6. Mud Tubes Along your External Walls
Another sign that you could have a termite infestation is mud tubes along your external walls. These mud tubes help to protect the termites from the weather and from predators.
7. Sagging Wood
Termites are very capable of burrowing into wood and leaving a honeycomb-like pattern behind. They can do this without ever making their way to the surface. Wood can start to sag as it becomes weaker. If you have any wood in or around your home that is sagging there’s a chance you have a termite infestation.
